Structural Steel Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with structural steel projects, ensuring that all specifications are met while maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for structural steel projects based on drawings and specifications.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify scope and cost drivers.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Evaluate vendor quotes and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries for future estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather additional information as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel construction methods and materials.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with experience in Tekla and Bluebeam considered a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
